Check out this great promotional campaign for the launch of an Ibis hotel in Singapour : "pay as you want". But it is confusing because on their website it looks like bidding, with the highest price offer winning or extreme Yield Management.
Anyway, it is already a business model for some like this coffee shop with no prices - the owner calls "volontary payment". The only question is: with the recession, will people volontary pay as much as if they were asked? If not, then it is not a long term business model but only a great promotional campaign to generate buzz!
